Palladium
Palladium is found in silver, nickel, and copper ores
AXIONIT® Technology
Palladium is a by-product metal in the silver refining process.

Palladium sorption technology based on AXIONIT® Pd-sorb increases the efficiency of the silver refining process and allows for additional palladium production.
Advantages of AXIONIT® Technology
at least 99% palladium extraction
increased silver electrorefining/electrowinning efficiency (increased productivity, reduced operating costs)
sorbent service life of at least 300 cycles, which is equivalent to 10 years of continuous operation
highly automated process
removal of palladium from the silver refining cycle into a product easily suited for further processing (concentrated desorbate)
extraction of platinum traces
high sorbent capacity of up to 100 g/L
Main steps of the technology
sorption (extraction of palladium from silver electrolyte)
desorption (removal of palladium from saturated sorbent into concentrated desorbate)
regeneration (conversion of post-desorption sorbent into shape suitable for operation)

AXIONIT® Pd-sorb
Purpose
For extracting palladium and platinum from highly concentrated nitrate and chloride solutions, as well as tungsten and molybdenum from carbonate solutions. The sorbent has increased chemical stability and heat resistance
Physical and chemical properties
Chemical composition: 4-vinylpyridine and divinylbenzene copolymer with vinylpyridine functional groups (weak basic anionite)
Appearance: spherical granules
Granule size: 0.315-1.25 mm
Static capacity: not less than 100 g/L
Reference
Purification of silver nitrate solution from palladium and platinum
Our Designs
Palladium sorption (extraction) from silver electrolyte: from idea to industrial implementation at hazardous production facilities with sorbent development
